Introduction

MessageMapper is a web application for viewing and editing messaging connections within complex IT systems.

MessageMapper has been completely re-written in version 4. It still is a web application for viewing and editing messaging connections within complex IT systems.

MessageMapper shall help to provide a better understanding of the interconnections between systems in a multi-system suite or enterprise architecture.

The following terminology is used in MessageMapper:

• System A logical system that is part of the suite and is sending or receiving information.

• Host A physical machine hosting one or more instances of a system.

• Environment A logical environment in which hosts reside and inter-communicate with each other.

• Information Flow A meaningful exchange of information between two systems.

• Control Flow A physical "leg" of an information flow between two hosts.
